Sarah,...I appreciate the informative response on the Board of Directors being more than 50% relatively new. Perhaps this is the reason that some changes are just now being made. Now I would really like to understand what went wrong over the years so that I can actually try to track any changes to see if they will actually address the past errors. At this point I hope we can all agree that there have been some past errors.

No one seems to have any insight into the question of why Ross Mitchell left SSPI with two or more other ex SSPI employees to found a new Company, Hot Haus, that became wildly successful in just five years of existence from 1994 through mid 1999. People have criticized me in the past for being repetitive, but this is an important question that goes to the heart of how a Company should be valued and indeed, what creates value. It is clear that had these employees stayed at SSPI and had they been free to pursue their vision within SSPI, we might be looking at a stock price for SSPI that is ten times the current price. Perhaps this could not have been accomplished for a variety of reasons, but I would like to find out if anyone on this Board knows anything about what actually happened.

Speculations;
The company is getting ready to have an equity stake placed by one or more OEM's or chip makers
the partner wants to play a more active role than prior management could live with
someone(s) of the board felt they needed new blood. ie current management was a liability. in order to get the market cap to reflect the value of the company new leadership was needed; for real or perceived reasons.
The company is going to be bought out or sell some property: asic or s/w to someone that the former CEO felt was not in the interest of the company ie a conflict over strategy.
My personal belief is that BJ had grown weary of the job that he needed a new challenge and that he decided it was time for a change both for himself and the company. Despite the current market cap, IMO BJ did a helluva job in a tough niche developing a company that is now ready to grow a la RSYS based on dsp cores instead of INTC silica. The opportunities for real time dsp systems apps is huge and just beginning
This is again all speculation and IMO
Re. wirless G3 will be big and SSPI will add beam forming and smart antenna and OS for board. IMO they will be the cisco of wireless (connectivity) and I believe that we will be part of TI and ADI G3 offerings. Mot is still a possibility as are nokia and Ericy. The G3 market for SSPI could be in the hundreds of millions in rev.
soft radio is to have lots of apps beside wireless basestations soft digital radiobroadcasting is coming and broadband over established radio radio frequencies is on the horizon.
Possibilities INTC and ADI JV// where does SSPI fit in or does it?
Spectrum's s/w development will set the digital world on its ear and IMO its newest products have been seen and beta tested by the majors and that is why we have seen accumuulation. the ASIC's hurricane and interchip on board asic to be named are worth 10's of millions. The non sale of the hurricane to an interested OEM was one reason I have heard for unhappiness with management. If it is one of the reasons we get G3 orders then it will not have been a mistake not to sell it. The main reason I have for believing in Spectrum is because of talent and intellectual property that they have. As we have seen by recent buyouts in dsp s/w and other niches these assets are worth much more than the current market cap given to Spectrum. I believe that if Spectrum were a private company or was to sell its s/w division it would fetch hundreds of millions and the market has yet to figure this out. They will. I am patient when I see unrecognized value.

again these are my views based on my dd and perspective. None of the above are givens but probabilities based on the facts available and my interpretation of them.
