Chaz, I'm not sure what you mean by "slowness in filling the Loral satellites." My impression has been that Skynet's utilization rate and competitiveness has been quite good...the problem has been getting the s/c delivered and launched more than marketing them once in orbit.

OTH, agree w/ you that Loral is not a mass marketeer and unlikely to be good at that if it tried. On G* they don't try, they rely on others. Probably, on a region by region case, some will disappoint, others will exceed our expectations. One hopes there will be some learning going on, so the poor performing sp's learn what works from the better ones.

Chaz, a major part of LOR/GLP marketing of Globalstar has already been successfully completed by obtaining business and/or operating licenses in 32 countries (more to come) and signing contracts with sufficient quality service providers. As I understand it, marketing & sales to the end user will be a responsibility of the service provider.

Not to say that LOR/GLP won't have a hand in publicity and national advertising, but responsibility for moving the merchandise and signing end-user contracts falls to the service providers (SPs). The chosen SPs have already proven their marketing prowess by their success in building a solid base of cellular customers. These SPs are competent, and are strongly motivated by their significant investment in GLP and in infrastructure. There are risks to worry about with Globalstar, but I believe the issue you raise is one of the smaller risks. You can stop shuddering now (g).
