You're point is well taken and could possibly be true trading small cap stocks with low volume, it's called pump and dump, but I hardly think one chat room could run up a stock such as MSFT. A person could daytrade on his own without a chat room, monitoring a few stocks, but the room I use has about 1000 people logged on during any trading day and 1000 pair of eyes can monitor many more stocks than one pair can. Also, I only buy the stocks people I know and trust reccommend. I actually lurked the room about 3 months before buying anything they reccommended and even now I might be logged on not buying anyone's picks and someone will post MSFT at day low or CSCO, DELL, INTC , T, F, GM, etc. and that will draw my attention and if I expect a end of day rally I will buy in and sell near the close. Have a nice day.
