IMO, it isn't their ISP business per se that needs to be successful, it's the ability to use their ISP business to sell more PC's. Just one more marketing tool.

<Watching this business from my vantage point, there is something wrong with a Gateway, Dell, Compaq, etc. that allows an Emchine business to even get started.>

From my perspective, Dell and Gateway are leaders in their industry and are extremely well managed. Both took on and handled well companies that were much much bigger and entrenched. It was their leadership and vision that got them were they are and which allows them to continue to grow faster than the industry. Compaq's problems could have been seen a mile away for those who understood what was happening more than 4 years ago in this industry (i.e. major channel shift).
