Hello Urlman,

> I just checked out the Live365 site and think it great.

They have done a great job with the site. They are providing MP3 streaming as a "relay" for anyone who wants to broadcast ... cool idea. We've been working on something similiar. They appear to be using the public open-source ICEcast servers ... it appears that ICEcast added several new features to enable this type of site ... my guess is running on Linux.

They have created a site where you can ask for an account, and they provide you your own "server" where you can stream to the world. You only need enough bandwidth for a single stream up to the server, and then people can listen to your station on their big bandwidth ...

Nope ... I've looked around a little bit, but haven't found a lot. They are with a group called Nanocosm (http://www.nanocosm.com) and they have been working on some "virtual community" stuff. I looked at their NanoHouse project and wasn't ambitious enought to download their 3d viewer to truly experience it ...

They are doing a great job with Live365 though ...
