Re Why stop there? How about the rest of the story?

Hi Cat Lady,

I usually quote enough from the beginning of the article to give someone an idea what the link is about. Less often, I will lift a quote from the middle, if I think it is important enough.

I stop there to meet SI's Terms Of Use at the bottom of the page ... There is a limit to how much of an article one can quote without violating the copyright.

When I put ... more ... >> it means there is more to the article ... It is up to the reader to make the effort to follow the link if she / he is interested in the rest of the story.

Besides, I noticed you conveniently didn't quote

<< "The consequences in a live environment would have been devastating," he says. As well as bringing the business to a standstill, it would have rendered it unable to operate for six months – and possibly taken suppliers and customers down with it. >>

:-))
