Interesting. Do you have a "cash" or "margin" account? Can you short stocks labelled NM (or like the /M sign)?

I dont understand, I just tried to enter short orders for a couple of sub $5 stocks that were listed NM (Non Marginable) and all of my orders were rejected... 07/25/1999 20:50:33 Sell 1 GKI at Mkt Invalid 07/25/1999 20:52:27 Sell 1 IMON at Mkt Invalid 07/25/1999 20:53:52 Sell 1 SEVL at Mkt Invalid Are you doing these orders on the phone? I traded quite a bit with Datek previously, I cant say that I tried every non-marginable stock as a short sale, but I dont remember any that were non-marginable but still shortable. rhansen
