Agreed, the goal of AG is to smooth economy/markets cycles
and however he/we will define "soft landing" it does not include
steep rise (eg.to 12600-13,000) and blow-off top.
The consensus and most of TA pointed to 12,600 and down to maybe 9200 in dramatic fashion.
By stopping the rise NOW he can smooth the the movement from 11,000
to maybe 10,000 (instead of 12,600 to 9,200)with all the benefits for "greater good" and in a long run even for market itself.
1000 pts pullback NOW and maybe range of 500pts for few months may not have major effect on economy, global recovery etc.
3000 pts.LATER will.
From broader point of view it is better to leak the bubble a little now than to blow -off the whole balloon later. This seems to be simplified intention of AG.
