Karen, Actually I'm dismayed at the exceptionally slow pace of acceptance. And really, the Physician Office Labs have been more ready to adopt the LDX than the other venues which have been tried. The pharmacy market would seem to be the clear avenue of choice. And one of the "big drug companies" ---say, one that is trying to push Lipitor (sp)-- should just about throw money at a drugstore chain that would REQUIRE the pharmacists to use the LDX...
Have NO idea if CTEC is going to "make it" this time -- it is still a rank speculation. But if you liked it at 10 or 14 or... it should be more than lovable when it's trying to double your money from 2 or so <gg>... Anyway, the technical position is finally coming on strong -- and you probably recall that I'm fairly "big" on technical strength. The E! got that through my thick skull, if nothing else. Ideally, the fundamentals will come into focus now as well --without which, all the TA in the world is worthless...
But "guilty"?? Nah!! -- Prudent is smart, imho. And you should be praised for your unwillingness to commit ANYthing, especially into this tur....errr..technological gem...., without SOME evidence that the party is about to begin... I can afford to speculate, and have fun doing so, but there IS a difference from INVESTING...so, "good for you"!! (But you don't mind if us crazy speculators make a couple of bucks now and then?) <vbg>.

Well, Karen, If CTEC had trouble with the Docs and the Pharmacists, why not try other avenues...like Fisher Health Care's acute care facilities? The announcement was: QUOTE
HAYWARD, Calif.--(BW HealthWire)--Aug. 12, 1999--Cholestech Corporation
(Nasdaq:CTEC - news) and Fisher HealthCare, a major operating unit of Fisher Scientific International Inc. (NYSE:FSH -
news) announced today that they have signed a non-exclusive, multi-year agreement for Fisher HealthCare to market the
Cholestech L.D.X® System nationwide.

Fisher HealthCare plans to market the Cholestech product line to more than 75,000 acute care facilities and physician office
laboratories in the United States. Under the terms of the agreement, the two companies will jointly market these products to
Fisher HealthCare's customers, with a focus on ambulatory acute care facilities involved in preventive personal health. UNQUOTE
That news appears to have driven CTEC from that recent low around 3 1/8 back up to 4 5/8 today....or roughly a 48% gain here.

I appreciate 48 percent gains, now and then. :-)
Still pessimistic? <g>
