I'm sure you guys have all seen Apple's new AirPort thingy. If not, it's at:

It seems to do a nice job with the last 150 feet from the cable or xDSL or 56k connection. It uses 802.11 on Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS). One base station handles 9 or 10 computers at 11 Mbps - that is downright respectable!

Anyway - could this kind of technology be extended to handle the LAST MILE? I think people would like 11 Mbps.
