Inhale vs Aradigm Market Cap: -inhl: $415M -ardm: $139M Cash:-inhl:$58M -ardm:$46M Clinical Programs: inhl: insulin phase III(pfe/hmr), betaseron preclin (BGEN great drug to partner), a few undisclosed early clinicals (lly/bax/others?). ardm: pain mgt phase II(skb), insulin Phase II (novo), pulmozyme preclin(gne), 3 undisclosed partnerships phase I. Aradigm claims to be one year behind Inhale on insulin. The differences in technology are tough for me to judge. Inhale's is dry powder, Aradigm uses a liquid nebulizer. One Inhale advantage is more drug per puff (dry powder/less water). Aradigm's theoretically should offer far more flexible dosing. I don't see why both can't succeed. The discrepancy is market valuation is steep. I'd also suggest ALKS for the model portfolio. Very reasonable market cap despite three high profile partnered programs, one NDA filed, 2 deep in the clinic.
