Thanks for the clarification of the definition. My impression of the correct use of that word, was to describe someone who was almost always untrusting, skeptical, suspicious etc... by nature and perhaps "without" good reason. As you say, a sort of negative quality. Hence my use of the word. I didn't think it was in any way negative to think that politicians are thieves. Thanks.
