HyperBanner's Click Rate More Than Four Times Industry Average; Figures Reflect Banner Exchange's Global Reach
BUSINESS WIRE - July 26, 1999 08:13
CUPERTINO, Calif., Jul 26, 1999 (BUSINESS WIRE via COMTEX) -- HyperBannernotched a global click rate of 1.3 percent, over four times the United States industry average of 0.3 percent.

Click rates are a standard measure of Internet banner advertising effectiveness. The HyperBanner network attracts 9.1 million unique users monthly.

According to the most recent IPRO audit, advertisers on the HyperBanner Network expose their sites to a global audience, confirms the audit. Consumers from the United States were the largest group overall, comprising an average of 33.9% of the site traffic.

Canada (5%), the Netherlands (4.5%), Italy (3.8%), Israel (2.7%), France (1.6%) and Japan (1.5%) were also major sources of ad requests. Over 50 percent of HyperBanner's audience comes from countries outside of the U.S. which underscores HyperBanner's global proposition to advertisers.

"This data is a compelling endorsement of the HyperBanner global network," said Amir Faintuch, CEO, HyperBanner.

"Our penetration outside the United States is also impressive. HyperBanner's staff operate locally in 30 countries. Anyone can put up a web site and aim it global but the statistics prove that HyperBanner truly is an effective way to reach international and targeted audiences, evidenced by our CTR of 5% in countries outside of the U.S."

"Going global is the mantra of all Internet companies today. Market trends indicate that global expansion and penetration is increasingly critical," said Daniel H. Rimer, H&Q, managing director and senior analyst -- Internet and Media. "Companies with a solid global infrastructure and international reach are uniquely poised to take advantage of the increasingly global Internet economy."

The report, I/AUDIT for Ad Networks, is based on census analysis of raw log files from HyperBanner sites. I/AUDIT is produced through a partnership of Nielsen Media Research and I/PRO, a provider of web site traffic measurement, auditing and research, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Engage Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq:ENGA).

Some of the Web's top sites including, Netscape, USA Today and Infoseek, use I/AUDIT to verify and report traffic to advertisers and media buyers.
