I'm in Louisiana, what should I do?

Buy a fall out shelter in Alaska....

Or being a bit more imaginative... organize an iceberg retrieval project.

It is simply amazing how Y2K will be responsible for all the rivers and lakes drying up, and rain from ever falling again.

Our resident expert on survival seems to have made quite a valid point. Don't bother getting a water filter, Bald... If you don't have 6 months worth of water stored for your pets, you'll likely never see a drop of H2O again until the faucets start working again.

Regards,

Ron

<Buy a fall out shelter in Alaska> Baldy, disregard advice of the thread's High Priest of Anti-preparedness.

He doesn't yet understand that when electricity goes off, it will be a little cooler in Alaska than in Louisiana! :)

Actually, you better very, very carefully explain this to him, as there is a distinct possibility that , per his well-thought out contingency plan of headin' to the hills in Oregon and chowin' down at daddy's diner when they run out of food in his dole district in dc, and then after cleaning out the elders' last reserves, he might be headin' northward to Alaska to check out your grubstakes there next!

That incessant pounding on your door might not be a grizzly after all, it might be.....and family! Like, " Hi Bald Eagle! Glad you moved to Alaska! Guess who is coming to dinner?"....and breakfast...and lunch...and dinner...and......

He might even have a used, no longer needed modem to offer you for barter, that considerate guy!
