Will you be watching this movie from battery power? I dont think so.
Heard the available power converter wattage is not big enough, I think this accessory is required to convert the planes standard voltage made available for notebooks and you have to buy a converter for your particular notebook model. but have no
facts. So all I can submit to you is ask alot of questions for the
conditions you intend to use it.
Hope I am not misleading you, its all second hand..
Good luck.

I bought a Inspiron 3500 which is the light-weight version of Insperon 7000. What can I say - just love it and have had no problems.

I opted for a bigger memory (128 meg) rather than the standard 96.

I have an Inspron 7000 (366 Pentium II with 192 meg of RAM). Video's / Movies played on the DVD run smoothly with no problems whatsoever. The video images are clear and sharp. For the small price difference, I think that it is well worth it. In the future you may find that software applications may come on DVD instead of CD rom. My reason for loading up with 192 meg of RAM is for the multiple applications that I run which include Excel, Word, Electronic file cabinet, voice dictation and internet.

Good luck on your decision. I'm happy with my inspiron.

BBG,
1. Is it worth getting the 4 X DVD? When you watch a movie is the action smooth and sharp?
My son in law has one and he also has the DVD and we think it is a MUST.

2. Is 96 meg. of ram enough?

Never enough RAM. I would go to 128 at least

Also get the modem that you can also use with your cell phone.

Good luck

Dorine

Re: Inspiron 7000

I just got mine 2 weeks ago. It is an awesome machine. DVD works fine but it is hardly a necessity. You could purchase a DVD module latter. 64 MB RAM is fine for average win95/98 user. 128 if you plan to migrate to win2000 or NT. There are 2 free DDRAM slots and you can add memory at about half the cost in the after market (Coast to Coast sells 64MB sticks for about $57) Be careful however a s I believe that adding memory yourself may affect the warranty.

The only down side to the 7000 is the weight, it is very heavy, and the heat, it runs very hot. It is a desktop replacement and not built for a frequent traveler. If you want to use your laptop on the road get the 3500 which is lighter and cooler

Unfortunately you just missed a special for shareholders which ended on June 23.
