Oliver, Globalstar can unilaterally cut their price to a service provider, but not below a certain level as other service providers can then squawk that they are being disadvantaged. The agreements provided for mutual price reductions. That was something I read about 3 years ago, so can't recall exactly how it went. But there seems to be fairly good alignment of service provider and Globalstar pricing.

None of it is the real serious Feral Marketing approach though and definitely not the official p-----g plan which would fill the system with maximum profits in the shortest time while ensuring no busy signals. This is still the mid 2oth century p------g methodology we are seeing in operation for Globalstar.

The FCC still is struggling with the concept of calling party pays and pricing plans still need to be submitted for government approval. This at the last gasp of the 20th century when the centrally planned economies were supposed to have had their day. Nope, state planning is alive and still kicking in the land of the free and brave [which is only free until NZ comes over the hill with lamb for sale in which case the wimpish USA pulls up the drawbridge].

Oliver, you were probably thinking of the retirement of G* President Doug Dwyre back in March:

globalstar.com

He was put on the BofD and Anthony Navarra named as acting CEO. I'm sure there would've been an announcement if Navarra had been replaced or made permanent.
