Zuma: Wow -- I didn't catch that Crestar will handle closing the old account. I'll have to pay 'em a visit. And I'll be checking out Schwab as well -- now that I know they have a REAL checking account. Maybe I don't need a bank at all.

As for "early days" -- this "security" alibi that banks are using to screw Quicken users reminds me of the lame excuse that AT&T used to use when they owned nearly all the local phone systems and were trying to force everybody to buy THEIR answering machines. They said third-party machines posed a risk of "damaging" AT&T lines. I think it was that sort of greedy, malicious nonsense that convinced the courts to bust up the old phone monopoly. It's really stupid for banks to lie like that -- who do they think they're fooling? It's an insult to their customers' intelligence.
