Often, more assimilated blacks "cannot boogie", perhaps because they are loathe to indulge stereotypes. I used to go to a Catholic church with a healthy number of black parishioners, but then Maryland was started as a Catholic colony...It is a good development, although there will probably be cultural limitations to the phenomenon, and the black churches are still an important source of leadership in their communities....
