Ron, Open access is just a way for the small people to feel important for a day. Local governments are full of small people who need to feel important, if only for a day. This is a funny post from the Fool: boards.fool.com >>"Here's another great idea every AOL lover should back! Let's get our local governments to force McDonalds to serve every kind of soft drink there is. Why should the consumer just get Coke? We know that what McDonalds is really selling is fast food service, but consumers should be able to get all foods fast, and not just those foods McDonalds decides to sell to us. For starters, let's force McDonalds to serve all the soft drinks made by all the soft drink companies in the country. Let's demand open access to McDonalds and make it a law! And while we are at it, let's have the government decide how much McDonalds can charge for those soft drinks just to keep things fair and square. Let's make all of McDonalds competitors carry every kind of soft drink as well. Yessirree, this is the way to do business. Consumers need these choices. It's a matter of life and death. Now, let's talk about those straws McDonalds uses. I bet there are at least 100 straw companies in the USA today that are not represented in the McDonalds fast food chain. All consumers should be able to get any kind of straw they want.......fast. Are you listening Mr Buffet? Don't you agree that McDonalds should be required by law to offer as many different straws to its customers as possible so consumers can suck up all those different kinds of fast sodas at the same place, speed and price? And, then there are those fast buns, fast fries, and fast shakes. And then there are the facilities, waste bins, tables, chairs, napkins, lighting fixtures. Consumers want a choice! They need the entire US worth of companies represented at McDonalds for all of these fast things. WE DEMAND THE GOVERNMENT FORCE OPEN ACCESS SO ALL SOFT DRINK AND OTHER COMPANIES WILL BE REPRESENTED AT MCDONALDS RESTAURANTS NOW!!!!"<< My note: I suppose they could say that McDonald's does have a restaurant on just about every busy corner, and there are just so many busy corners in a city, so they could call McDonald's public property and rule those restaurants by law..........? <g> E-Graphs
