Mr. Stephen McDonald reports
Frank J. Petrilli, chief operating officer, TD Waterhouse Group, has resigned. Mr.
Petrilli is leaving to pursue other opportunities.
Keith Gray has assumed the responsibilities of chief operating officer, effective
immediately. Most recently, Mr. Gray has focused on providing strategic
expansion and acquisition advice for TD Waterhouse Group.
Mr. Gray built TD Waterhouse in Canada and was a key architect of the
acquisition of Waterhouse Investor Services by TD Bank Financial Group. He has
also been instrumental in other successful acquisitions including Jack White and
Kennedy, Cabot. Mr. Gray is a director of the Waterhouse National Bank.
"Frank has made an important contribution to the growth of TD Waterhouse and
we wish him all the best in the future," said Mr. McDonald.
"TD Waterhouse is a great, customer-driven company and I am very proud to
have contributed to its growth and success," said Mr. Petrilli.
In Canada, TD Waterhouse operates the country's largest discount brokerage
firm, which operated under the Green Line Investor Services name until July 7. In
the United States, TD Waterhouse operates the country's third largest discount
brokerage. TD Waterhouse also operates discount brokerage units in Hong
Kong, Australia, and the United Kingdom.
On June 28, 1999, TD Waterhouse completed an initial public offering. The
offering of approximately $1.46-billion (Canadian) ($1-billion (U.S.)) was the
largest IPO of an Internet-related company and the 14th largest IPO in New
York Stock Exchange history.
