>>Are you buying and holding this one, or just trading it?

I am buying and holding until I make a bunch of money or fundamentals change and then I am selling. I guess you call that trading.

>>valuation looks like it's above the tree level to me

The valuation is high but you can't buy high quality cheap now so I prefer to stay with tomorrow's blue chips. If the tech market continues to correct, JNPR will likely correct with it but so will cheaper tech stocks.

JNPR reminds me of BRCM. Tons of exceptional people at the company and even more invested in it. BRCM has gone through some sharp corrections but the stock is a leader and emerges from each correction with a sharp rally despite seemingly nosebleed valuation. Investors see the long-term potential of BRCM and are discounting it early. My bet is that JNPR goes relatively flat for a while ($125-$150) OR gets a very big valuation much earlier than consensus would expect. Either way, I like the longer-term risk/reward. The internet infrastructure market is the best growth theme of the 90's.

For valuation comparison purposes, look at INKT. Its got a $5.3b valuation and has already been passed by Juniper in quarterly revenues.

Last 4 quarter revenue ramp (INKT includes some small acquisitions):

INKT 6.3 8.2 10.7 14.6
JNPR 0.0 3.8 10.0 17.6
