Tony, given Ruettgers record, I would find it hard to believe that, as of last week (CC, etc.) he was not well-informed about what IBM was up to, and how competitive (or non-competitive) Shark will be, and other issues that you mentioned...yet, he was as ebullient as ever.. If he seriously was worried, I would think that he would have tempered his remarks last week....I saw nothing but confidence for rest of 1999 and 2000.. I am not a technical expert (on Shark, storage), but Ruettgers gives me great confidence that Shark will not effect EMC's growth projections..
