Re: ERICY Questions...

First a disclaimer note.. My cousin's knowledge is not in the technical arena, he is a financial controller. He has also been on vacation for last 4 weeks and some items he was not aware of.He also made the comment that "Sweden has the same insider laws as US".Please do some reading between the lines.

1) How does E view GSM w/ CDMA overlay, evolving to 3G standard? What about the dual mode phone?

> "I'm not involved in the technical aspects, but 'we think what is important is that there be good competition on one industry standard'"

2) When is the G* phone coming to market? Its demand?
> Probably year 2000. He's involved with these new "special projects". They just completed 3 new contracts with operators and they are currently negotiating more right now. These are not traditional phone operators, more like JV's. He said the operators would like to be more aggressive, however they are really waiting to see what happens with MOT's project(Iridium), then gage real demand.(I guess it makes sense)

3) With the new/old president in place is restructuring near completion? Does he still not like CDMA?

> There has been some shifting in personnel but they are getting away from some landline business and would like to become completely wireless/cellular. They are very, very happy about the direction company is going; A new Paradigm, he called it.... My cousin didn't like the CDMA question (imagine that?)However he felt(and rumor has it) that Oke Person will be named president of the new, (old Q), E infrastructure... HE said this man is a pretty clear thinker (actually had originally hired my cousin many years ago)

I'll be working on him over the coming months for more info, after he gets back to work maybe he can specify a little more detail.. He made no comment how E will respond to BT ATT deal

Sorry to make you guys read between the lines so much.. My personal take is similar to some of the posts today that E is going in the right direction and won't screw up this new era. (actually they will become a strong ally IMHO)

Best to All
