I spent considerable time this weekend revisiting the tax consequences of the frequent trades often caused by stop losses and then figuring where I wanted to put them. I entered several this morning before the market opened and then stopped when it didn't go straight into the toilet. I'll probably put in some more after my nap. Speaking of taxes, in Fla. we don't have a state income tax. I would be interested in knowing how different states that do have income taxes treat investment gains. It would probably change my conclusions if I were in a state with income tax. Sure wish I had a crystal ball to tell me if the market is going to tank this week. My family wants to leave tomorrow to go down to Sanibel Island for a couple of days and I'm scared to death I'll lose much of the nice gain I have so far this year. With my luck, if I leave a lot of stops, the market will drop sharply, take out my stops and then rebound sharply while I'm out on my brother in-laws boat fishing. Bob
