If people really knew how simple it was for JFK to have gotten down safely they would be appalled. Planes like his (Piper Saratoga) and mine (Mooney 252) have equipment that any well taught child could have told him what to do. All he had to do was keep it on Auto Pilot which had an Altitude hold and wing leveler capability. With it on auto pilot he could have steered the plane with his Heading Bug and let the GPS navigation system take him right over the airport, look down, circle and land. So, So simple! I almost get sick thinking about it. Voltaire
