Steve: Under Ramsey Su's "rules", I guess I am not supposed to thank Tim and you here (send PM instead) , but I do as a means of efficiency. (Perhaps if I go on a bit it will be OK) :-)

Particularly like the analogy of the tanker turning slowly, but turning in fact, and your points that Ericsson has much to gain if it goes with CDMA in addition to the other strings in its bow.

Where this will be particulary crucial IMO will be China. Ericsson has (to put it gently) sunk costs in China - much entertainment (and other) past expenses which have built up some useful relationships. The Q perhaps has received honorable mention from a man of some standing in China, Bernard Schwartz. And Dr J. has been very very careful (to use his double very) in his relationships there with positive moves with university people et al.

A genuinely friendly working relationship in China with the Q and Ericsson working hand in hand would seem to be very much in the interests of both companies. Will it happen? Let's see.

Obviously, would appreciate Ramsey Su's comments on the potential Q/Ericsson connection in China.
