For the record, I agree with you about the need for debt. I can say that as a result of the reduction in the need for the government to compete in the credit markets for funds to operate, mortgage rates are lower. They are not as low as the waning months of the Bush presidency. I personally was closing loans for customers @ 6 1/4% with no points and still making money back then.

I would like to see a further reduction in the need for government borrowing. 3-4% mortgage rates would start another 5 year refi boom and would allow us all to qualify to live in $250K houses.<GG>
