Hi Robert:

The CDMA protocol is poorly adapted to broadband applications.
CDMA requires a bandwidth equal to the bandwidth per channel
(user) times the processing gain.So if a user needs say
50MHz (supports about 100Mb/sec), with a processing gain of 100,
you would need 5Ghz of bandwidth. LMDS has only 1.3.

Generally, deterministic multiple access protocols such as
FDMA, TDMA and CDMA are poorly adapted to broadband data
traffic, which is usually bursty. Statistical multiplexing
or contention based protocols are better suited for such
situations.In other words, you want to allocate resources
dynamically, to users who need them the most, at the time when
the need arises.
