HI JC - Any idea if the margins will be the same? Or rather is the benefit to SUNW an increase in overall unit production. Will Sunw still be doing the assembly and testing or might they contract this out to somebody like Solectron? Sunw should be well positioned if they (1) take new server orders directly through the Internet (2) assemble these units using a subcontracted vendor (like Solectron) (3) preload the software and end-user applications in the box and (4) ship these units JIT to the end-user. Then the AOL/SUNW integrators can fine tune the client's application at the users site and no inventory is required. Software updates could also be accomplished remotely by the AOL/SUNW integrator directly from the Network. Wow, if streamlined, SUNW could really spit out these servers. I wonder if they currently do this with their SPARC line. I believe each SPARC machine is assembled and tested on site in one of SUNW's owned manufacturing facilities. EKS
