<Have you considered living in a less expensive part of the valley? >

Why would I want to? Besides, staying right here is the cheapest thing I can do. We are in the midst of an inet-lead real estate bubble. The high end is exploding.

Example: friends just sold their Atherton teardown (40 years old, needs new kitchen, bathrooms). Asking price: 1.4M. Days on market: 1. Number of offers: 9. Number of offers above asking price: 7. Final sale price: 1.7M. Sold to: Young exec of local inet company. Paid with: inet stock.

Example: Just listed: 3 bedroom, 3 bath Palo Alto home. Nice neighborhood. Asking price: 3.5M.
