That is what I am interested in. Why would Deon not be in a "class" with Ali? Ali was good but was just as much of a "showboat" as Deon. They both(when healthy) could back up their showboating.

Everyone sees Ali now as the gentleman retired boxer with Parkinsons, but that is just a small part of his life. Don't forget the Ali and Cosell show that seemed to go on forever.
I don't put Reggie in that class, as he was just seemed more of an egotist(deservedly so)than a showboater.

Bill,
the most intersting thing(to me) is that Muhhamed and Reggie were certainly not strangers to showboating, in fact they were world clas showboaters. for whatever reason, they can get away with whatever it is that Deon can't. IMO, the reason is that they (appeared) to be taking themselves les seriously in their showboating. Almost as if they were lettingus in on their little private joke. I'm sure tht in reality, they weren't always joking however....
