The market's going to do what the market's going to do.

Interest rates up, interest rates down, inflation, deflation,
recovery, depression, Asia, Europe, Latin America, War, Peace,
and Mr. G's mumbles,

baring global thermal nuclear war,

The market's going to do, what the market's going to do.

And after this round is over,
we can sit and have a brew,
and figure out what the market is next going to do.

FWIW I'm on record as believing this week will be up, at least until wacky Friday. While the break in the OEX daily trend line today was rather disconcerting, there were too many pockets of strength to nail the coffin shut just yet. When I see CMB and AXP up in the financials, WMT and even poor S in Retail, and the Drugs just sitting there, it's not quite time to sing the Bear Ballad. That said, I sure am glad I wasn't long tech today, or some of the small caps that got obliterated.

Haim,

I think AG marches to the beat of a different drum... as a wordsmith, he tends to take the "observer" position and makes a case for what he thinks is prudent. If he were proven to be wrong, he would say so and lay out the case for a different approach. Remember, he has covered himself by repeated allusions to "bubbles." I think he has plenty of wiggle room no matter what happens.
