Hey people.

welcome to the world of investing and trading. Every one has motives. Everything is fueled by greed and fear. There is nothing wrong with what braverman did. His guess is as good as mine, is as good as (insert your favorite posting fool's name), is as good as a magic eight ball's guess.

Even with the added power of thousands (and I mean on the order of 10's of thousands) of dollars worth of research and reports an analyst can't judge on a short term basis better than anyone else.

If you are convinced that they know what they are doing and are purposefully out there to screw YOU, there is a simple solution. Do the exact opposite of what they say. But you know what, if you watch it day to day, you will still feel like they screwed you.

Be self reliant. Make your own decisions. Don't depend on anyone. Don't hang on anyone elses whim. Know thy enemy. all that stuff. When you do this, it may hurt more when you make a mistake, but you learn faster and it feels sooo good when you pull one off for yourself without any help from anybody else.

Be liberated... but hopefully not from you money.

Cheers

Dr.Zax

Open an account at any major brokerage house. Depost a million dollars or so. You'll
find that the brokerage will give you a "special" call days before they issue a "buy"
recommendation, and they will give you a warning before they issue a "sell"
recommendation.

that statement of yours sums up the belief of many investors...it is not only illegal but unethical. I have many accounts that have openned acts. with larger balances than 1mm and I don't get tipped on recommendations before they are publisized.

Many investors nowadays seem to think because they have access to more info than they did before the net came along, that they are experts....I read these boards diligently because many posters have very intelligent thoughts that I am happy they share. Most posters here, at least when talking about the markets exhibit that they really know very little other than how to get a cheap execution. These are the investors that need a full service brokerage they can trust to teach them how the markets work.

I realize that I will get flamed for this post but the number of posters here may be better of in the long run if they realize they only know enough to be dangerous, but most of their ideas of how the markets work are just wrong.
