I think gold at $ 250 an oz and 20 year low has little downside risk
if a Y2K disaster does not materialize. Mines are closing everyday and
demand is outstripping supply. The rest of the world (the other 5.7B people)knows the value of gold. Anyone in Indonesia or Russia that had converted their currency to gold before they devalued maintained their wealth.

As for the U.S. I don't think the "elite" are going to be hoarding gold therefore no rush to sell after Y2K. Americans rather put their money into things that maintain their value such as baseball cards and beanie babies. I wonder if the rest of the world realizes beanie babies are worth money and when boiled make a good meal?
