<Reading this article, it seems painfully clear why Atiq chose to leave AMD:>

<Is it not reasonable to assume that AMD was no longer heading in the direction Atiq wanted and that he could not persuade Sanders to change course?>

Unfortunately this does not make it clear to me. Which course did Atiq want AMD to take - IS the question.

Kap.

Not necessarily. I suspect that Raza was not happy for many reasons and had the financial where with all to leave without having a new position. I just read an article in IBD or WSJ that talked about how all of the original SAP management (I think there were 19) who had introduced SAP to this country, have left and most if not all, went to smaller startup companies (which is not uncommon in the Silicon Valley). There were several reasons why they left but the two main ones were that the financial benefits potentially were better at the startups and they were bored with the work in their current position after having gone through the exciting part of 'starting up' SAP in this country. Analogies can be made to Raza in that he had completed the 'fun part' of getting the K7 designed and into production. Than again Raza may despise Sanders.

Let me know if you want specifics on locating the article.

I seems that Atiq made quick bucks in Internet stocks and believed that
it is easier sledding in the arena of billion dollar valuations with no sales than where he currently was.

Burnout or Inspiration? that is the question. Only time will tell!
