Based on my experience, Amazon charges the same listing and commission fees as eBay, so I don't see how eBay "costs more".

As far as deadbeat bidders, they are in fact a FAR BIGGER problem than fraudulent sellers. I would estimate that 10 to 20 percent of successful bids go uncollected.

However, that is not just with eBay. In fact, the percentage of deadbeat bidders is higher at Amazon, and I would bet big money it is MUCH higher with Yahoo auctions. (No personal experience there, since I have never been successful at selling anything on Yahoo auctions.)
