re: Softbank ADR. I can't speak for Steve but what I know is this: Lehman Bros. analyst Ravi Sarathy ("the Henry Blodget of Asia") estimated an ADR will begin trading in "12-18 months". So it's not any day now, although Softbank is clearly preparing for it by divesting non-core (i.e. not Net-centric) holdings and apparently getting their financial statements prepared...

softbank - i think masa son has done a great job with the firm and is now paring back non-internet assets

having a tradable instrument in the u.s. makes sense to me now that the softbank story is wider known

in 1996 when i first delved into softbank it was when it invested for 1/3 of yahoo at the ipo which many observers then thought was ludicrous and i thought was probably a good move

in those days softbank invested in dozens of internet startups in the days when nobody else was as widely investing (except cmg)
