People in the media love to fantasize... most of them have very limited business knowledge so they report as true almost any number they are told without any verification of facts... fact checking is too time consuming and requires too much thinking.

and then Wall Street is equally bad with their simplification of the World. Wall Street types love to speak in catch phrase terms.

"Microsoft like profit margins" - oooh... I want some of that.

"blue chip Internet" - yes... I feel confident now.

"exploding growth" - how much growth? "BIG BIG GROWTH. Internet GROWTH. YOU know GROWTH." ... I want some of that!
