I don't have any idea what Pokemon revenue numbers are going to look like for SYCD. The company has told investors they are expecting Pokemon to make up about 30% of their total sales. I was told their revenues are currently running between $4 and $5 million a year and growing, pre Pokemon. So you can work the numbers. One intriguing statement in their 6/7/99 PR stated: "As one of the few U.S. firms selected to directly import these extremely popular toys, SyCoNet.com has the significant opportunity to capture dominant market share since we sell the products at a considerable discount to most distributors." Now I know their statement didn't jibe with my numbers, but still there is obviously huge potential here. The other thing to remember is that Pokemon is not the biggest focus of SYCD. They are already the leading seller of Japanese anime products in the U.S. Japanese anime will probably be selling many times what Pokemon is selling years after the Pokemon craze has died down.
