>>where is HappyGirl? she was a staunch defender of ebay<<

I hope she is not trading beanie babies and disco memorabilia over on ebay trying to recoup her losses. I am in the position of actually liking ebay (the site), but loving shorting ebay (the stock). Maybe I should ask Impristine for his expert opinion on whether this is evidence of a psychiatric problem.

I have still not lost money shorting ebay even though I had to ride out a few surges. AMZN, on the other hand, has bit me virtually every time I touched it

Hi, here I am, logged on after a longtime, just in time to read my name ! A staunch defender even now !!!! Regretfully, I never could muster enough courage to withstand the violent moves of Ebay for long........

Remember AOL and the technical gliches two years ago ?????? Remember the Ebay slide from 311 - 190s (pre split ????). Have a little faith !!!!! In case you remember, I did say that I would slow my trading after June ??

As for trading beaning babies as CLCF suggests - well, confidence and success comes from within.....and it is a rare quality - even if I say so myself !!!!!! My losses were never as great as people would have you believe - it was just a calculated risk, nothing I cannot recover in a good, uptrending week or two !!! I did take a 2 month vacation WITH the stocks in my portfolio....and I think that was conviction and guts !! The 30K CSCO shares hedge my risks at all times even though the recent $4 drop in CSCO share hurt me more than the violent inet of 2 months - but trading beanie babies is a long way off - hopefully - esp till Chambers stays in office but I do hope you had a successful interlude. The volatility does suit yours and Jan's trading style.
