<I am under the impression that some of S3s gains in the recent past have come at the expense of the buggy Whitney.>

Whitney? Please. S3's gains have come at the expense of ATI. S3 is gaining market share because it's products are a great value for the money, not because the Whitney sucks.

I'm not sure why a 1.55% drop in the stock price would cause anyone to come to the conclusion that "the gravy train may be coming to an end". I think S3 stands on it's fundamental value, compelling products and a competitive road map. This is why so many of the top ten OEM's have selected them for upcoming launches.
