*Brazil phone sales*

Phones sell more than expected

Rio de Janeiro, 07/27/99 - All
expectations previously expressed as to
the sale of mobile telephones in Brazil are
being surpassed. Manufacturers expect
sales of new mobile phones to reach 8.5
million in 1999. Installed, this number
could reach up to 12 million. There were
10 million installed mobile phones in June,
according to the National
Telecommunications Agency (Anatel). Given this, revenues should reach levels of between R$ 2.5 billion and R$ 3.5 billion, if the average price remains at R$ 400 per telephone. "Brazilian demand had not been fully assessed, that is why manufacturers are reviewing their revenues forecasts month by month," stated the Nokia sales manager Anderson Ramos. Mike, just about all the functions (EG synchronization) that you desire, will soon be available through that BlueTooth interface that I've been ranting about.

As for myself, I'd feel rather silly standing around O'Hare -
talking into an Etch a Sketch ..... that is, unless I'd consumed
those Scotch & Sodas.

The alternative is to have that etch-a-sketch seamlessly transmitting and receiving data through the Q Phone in my pocket.

To All, If I'm becoming a pain in the Arse on this subject --
please let me know, and I'll back off.

Regards,
Mardy.
