Tom: I certainly do not have to linger long on a discussion as we are having before the Lord starts dealing with me; how woefully inadequate I am. Temptations are prevalent. Motives doubtful. I heard a philosopher say one time that in the end life is fair it breaks everyones heart and everyone gets a measure of what they deserve, some more so than others. My experience has been the opposite. I can honestly say that the Lord has given me much more than I deserve of the rewards and much less of the punishment than I deserve. I guess that is grace and I am certain that for every mature person in Christ they should be able to make the same statement. Also, I am firmly convinced that the whiners and complainers of the body of Christ get little in the way of rewards. I have a tendency to do that at times and I am always on guard so that the temptation does not overtake me. Even psychologists will tell you that whining and complaining are about the most self destructive emotions one can engage in. Is it little wonder that God chose to bless Jacob, and call him Israel. Knock that guy back a step or two; and you most certainly would not hear whining and complaining; he would already be plotting how to get back at you..And God chose Jacob Go figure.......In Christ.gregor
