I wasn't talking "respectable". I was indicating that my stocks are usually off-radar.

My recent encounter with shorts..... they were daytraders, hitting an issue at 18-22, when I had purchased earlier at about 7-8. The funny thing.... I was arguing with them, suggesting that the company was a good one, but I had sold 90% of my shares before they had ever started to sell.

That's a different sort of short than those that we're discussing here.

I tend to invest in "leveraged" companies (e.g., BTRN a few months ago or SIBI, sitting in dead money land forever), companies where the technology is deeply discounted and where capitalization is not likely to be viewed in terms of near-term profit potential. I was just commenting that this sort of company doesn't seem to attract a short position...... not implying anything about "respectable".

Remember, I also traded into and out of SEPR leaps during the period following the recent poison (thanks to info derived from you and Jim), that I was holding SUGN (thanks to Miljenko), etc.

I wasn't commenting on quality.
