Tad did say that his numbers might not be exact. Some people already challenged his percentages when he first posted his message. But he was more concerned with conveying a point than with being precise with the numbers.

Regardless of determining certainty, those costs are spread across a base product that has produced 100s of millions of units over a 3+ year period. That can really spread the costs out.
