Shorting this market is not really the best way to make money---this is the first time i am trying it. I feel that we are going to stay in this bull market and will be at record highs by February. I am guessing that the Y2K worry related selloff is going to happen early. Everyone want to rush to the exits ahead of the next guy. Maybe that is why the market selloffs have occured right in the middle of positive earnings announcements. The experts have been surprised how this selloff occurred even with good earnings reports.
It is a race to the exits.
Now when we hit October to December period, that will be when the mutual funds go fully invested into the new year. A lot of mutual funds have been sitting on a lot of cash and will sense that we might run into a huge rally going into the new year.
Meantime, the paranoid (or ones fearing a y2k selloff) are actually going for the exits earlier rather than later.

Good Luck.
