Thanks, Richard, for your reply. My intention is to use the DJIA as only one of many indicators. I am trying to develop a "trading system" for a couple of stocks I have been "slow trading" and have built up a lot of experience with that I would like to capitalize on. One of it's characteristics is that if the market is down, it's not going up. I have been told that one way to do this is to place the Index on the same chart in another window and build the variable on it there.
