I sent Joan a second note asking whether the WSTL modems that Bell Atlantic is receiving are actually of the DMT flavour. Here is her response.

Frank:

You're right that Westell now has DMT modems. We will be using multiple
manufacturers to meet our need for modems. Just curious, what is your interest
in modems?

Thanks for checking it out Frank. The fact that the Yahoo poster says his order was delayed by BA inorder to get him a Westell modem instead of an Alcatel, I take to not be entirely consistent with Joan's reply. I'm sure we will get a better picture of this shortly. At least Westell is clearly in the game.
