Rande I've been looking for some investment alternatives this summer as I've gone back to a full time position recently. I recently purchased 200 shares of ANLT at an average of 25 3/4. I have traded in a pattern of 25 1/2 to 27 for the last several days. I am looking for their breakout past 27 then 29 near term. Not being able to trade freely during the day I am looking for additional short term plays with a limited downside for this market. Stop at 25 1/4. Analytical Surveys, Inc. provides computerized mapping services for government, utilities and commercial customers. They convert paper based maps, aerial photographs, tax records, etc., to form a GIS or geographic information system or intelligent map. They are traded on the NASDAQ. The 52 week range is 15 1/8 to 37 5/8. ANLT closed 7/27/99 at 26 7/8. They are covered by 7 analysts. Yahoo reports 6 Strong buy and 1 Moderate buy. Multex reports 6 Buy and 1 No Opinion. You might think they are thinly traded, though. Average daily volume is ~62000. Yahoo shows 6.3mm shares outstanding with a float of 5mm. It is not that sexy an issue, but I was looking for something that might hold up during this type of market. Actually, I'm more interested in your opinion. This company makes money. biz.yahoo.com 3rd Qtr is .42 per diluted share. Revenues up 37% comparable period. Prior to this release, per share Book value was $7.47, Sales $16.30. Cash was only $0.38. Ratio analysis yahoo.marketguide.com for this company is favorable within its sector for the trailing twelve month. Competition includes: CRAI, HBIX, HWS, LCCI, METZ, NRES, SBSE, SW, TSCC & TGIS. Sep 00 PE based on 1.90/share is 14.2. There has been insider selling throughout the last 9 months. Thank you for your steadying influence.
