Forest Oil/Ranger's 10,000+ ft. deep test has reached total depth. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=Forest Oil Corporation Announces Preliminary Results of Northwest Territories Well Tuesday, September 14, 1999, 5:48 PM EDT Business Editors DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 14, 1999-- Forest Oil Corporation (NYSE:FST) and its partner Ranger Oil Limited (each with 50% working interest) announced preliminary results from the N-61 well in the Northwest Territories of Canada operated by Forest's wholly owned subsidiary Canadian Forest Oil, Ltd. The N-61 well has reached a total depth of 10,334 feet. The well bore penetrated a highly porous dolomite in the Nahannai formation which yielded strong gas shows when it was penetrated. The N-61 well is located some six miles to the southwest of the Ranger operated P-66A discovery well (Forest and Ranger each with a 50% working interest) which production tested at 30 mmcf/d through 3-1/2" tubing. Current plans are to begin testing the N-61 well in the next 2-3 weeks. Test information should be available in October 1999. Canadian Forest and Ranger are currently conducting a 3-D seismic program on acreage adjacent to the N-61 well with the objective of identifying potential development locations.
